Rainbow Jerseys lead on Day 1 in Monaco as Wiedenroth and Gilloux take the win

The German and Mirko Tabacchi are now the standing leaders

Col de Turini, France – Saturday 26 July 2025 – Rain threatened to shake things up ahead of Monaco Alpes-Maritimes Round Race 1, falling just an hour before the start, but the skies cleared in time, and the action went ahead without stopping the World Cup from making its seventh straight appearance in the region.

In the season’s second showdown, action on track started with the Qualirace, where Sofia Wiedenroth (Specialized) and Théo Charmes (Teewing Factory Team) rose to the occasion and claimed pole positions.

With everything in place for a spectating race, Santero Holeshot fight delivered fireworks, as Jérôme Gilloux (Lapierre Overvolt), making his first-year appearance, surged ahead to grab the honour, joined by Specialized’s German rider on the Women’s side.
