Charade Circuit and GCK to host the first WES Round in Clermont-Ferrand, France

Monaco (P.ty) Thursday 18 March 2021 – WES Management is glad to announce the official venue of the French round of the World E-Bike Series in Charade/Clermont-Ferrand.

Located on the Massif Central in Southern France, the iconic Charade Circuit is optimal in spirit as well as technically. The facilities are part of Green Corp Konnection (GCK), an ecosystem of industrial companies that are at the forefront of the energy transition taking place within mobility and the move towards a new green energy supply. Charade is France’s last mountain track and it is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty which is an UNESCO World Heritage site in the Chaîne des Puys mountain chain. The circuit’s new strategy is to become a leading circuit for eco-mobility, this whilst also reconciling the passion for motoring that has characterised it since its origin.

Francesco Di Biase, WES CEO and Founder: “We are delighted to announce the collaboration with a prestigious partner like Charade Circuit, in France, such an important country for the E-bike industry. This partnership is based on shared values and a long-term vision, as well as our passion for innovation and sustainable mobility. This is a brand-new type of venue for WES, we are sure they will host an extraordinary event for all bike enthusiasts”.

Romain Sellier, Director of the Charade circuit: “Hosting an E-Bike World Cup leg this summer is a great opportunity for the Charade circuit to demonstrate that it is becoming a major player in the transition to green mobility under the leadership of GCK. We are already looking forward to organising this event and working hand in hand with WES to make it a flagship event on the calendar.”

The official date for the round is the 17-18th July 2021, the third Round of WES season.

As the event is placed centrally in the WES calendar and hosting a double race, as per WES 2021 format, it will possibly be where we start to see the results separating out the leaders from the challengers in WES UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup. France is an excellent location for the riders to start to bare their competitive spirit.
