WES update on 2020 Season

Monaco (P.ty), Tuesday 7 July 2020 – WES Management and cycling governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) regret to announce the cancellation of the last round of the season, scheduled on 2-4 October, in Catalonia, Spain.

Following several conversations with all parties involved in the WES Events organisation, we sadly had to make this decision, due to the persistence of the global health crisis and the general uncertainty on international travels and logistics.

For both WES Management and the UCI, the health and safety of athletes and working personnel keep being of the utmost importance.

In these conditions, both the Swiss and the Italian Rounds which were put on hold earlier in the season will not be rescheduled.

2020 Monaco race classification sets the current UCI E-MTB XC World Cup Men’s and Women’s standings for this season. No final overall classification trophy would be awarded in any category.

All riders who participated in the 2020 WES Monaco Round are pre-qualified for the UCI E-MTB World Championships. Further details on the start gridding will be provided by the UCI in due course.

WES Management keeps working hard on the upcoming season with the aim to go back to racing soon, to take the UCI E-MTB XC World Cup to the greatest venues and best trails, as well as to grant safe racing and paddock activities.

We would like to thank the teams and athletes, the cycling industry, our partners and e-bike fans for their support and patience during this unprecedented challenging time.
