2021 WES Season Kick-off

Monaco (P.ty), Tuesday 12 January 2021 – The 2020 rollercoaster is over and WES World E-Bike Series is warming up to come back bigger and better in this 2021 season. The 2021 WES Race Calendar will be public soon andtraditionally, the series will start in Monaco (P.ty) next 27-28 March and will stop by Italy, Switzerland, Spain and France, with new, amazing venues. The Season Finale venue will be revealed soon, for a 7-round calendar in Europe, ending on 2-3 October.

Focus on E-XC, being the WES UCI E-MTB World Cup discipline, whilst WES Gravity races will be held in a few rounds only.
WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup is the exclusive competition providing eligible points to qualify for the UCI E-MTB World Championships and fight for the coveted rainbow jersey.

Race format: Double E-XC race at those venues where the Gravity is not going to be held, giving E-XC athletes the chance to earn double points in one weekend by optimising the Team travels costs. Back-to-back WES rounds are also planned, for the same reason, as the whole industry is expected to face another challenging year.

Teams & Riders: most of the protagonists already participating in the series are confirming their attendance in 2021, including reigning E-MTB World Champ Mélanie Pugin (BH).
Again, one of WES goals is to increase the number of Women racing E-MTB in the series and, as ever, WES will provide them with proper visibility on owned channels and in the media.
The Olympians and multi World and National Champions registered at WES events over the last two years shall all be confirmed, plus world motorsports stars, such as Marco Melandri, Lorenzo Zanetti and more to come.
Applications will open soon with a brand-new application platform and this will also be launched via this emailing channel.

New activities, new partners’ activations, improved media coverage with live content on WES channels, as well as TV coverage.

Media partnerships are in place with the Media Teams Project, which sees the participation of athletes under the flag of a media (website/magazine) to create specific video content and increase the overall event visibility.

WES 2020 partners confirmed their support to the series for the upcoming season/s and new important commercial agreements will be announced shortly, along with new institutional partners in the sustainable mobility industry.
