6 venues confirmed, some new exciting tracks joining the Series

Monaco (P.ty) Monday 27 February 2023 – WES Management SARL and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) are glad to announce the 2023 racing calendar for the UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup.

Since its debut back in 2019, the traditional WES Season Opener is the Monaco Round, taking place next 20-21 May For the first time, the event will take place in the area of Breil-sur-Roya, with brand-new, exciting racetracks designed on a breathtaking mountain area overlooking the Monaco Principality Bay.

The second round is confirmed to be Bologna, Italy on 10-11 June, a promising event organised once again in collaboration with the local specialists of electric bikes, working on the E-MTB education to explore the regional mountain chain. Following the summer break and the UCI World Championships, the third stop will be at the iconic F1 Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on a date to be announced, followed by two rounds on consecutive weekends: the Sea Otter Europe Round in Girona, Spain on the 22-23 and the French Round of Clermont-Ferrand one week later, on 30 September1 October. The last round of the season will be in Barcelona, Spain, on 21 October, where the overall winners of the season will be awarded.

The UCI E-MTB XC World Cup race format is confirmed for the upcoming season: with the exception of Barcelona, two separate races every Round (i.e., in one weekend), with separate classifications and podium ceremonies. Women and Men riders will once again compete together, same race start with separate standings.

Although the race application fees for teams and riders will stay the same as for 2022, this year’s prize moneys are significantly increasing to encourage both loyal and new applicants to participate in the UCI E-MTB XC World Cup, the first-ever UCI E-MTB international competition, pioneer in the format.
Teams and Riders can apply now at a special rate, HERE.

National wildcards can request an international UCI daily licence to register for the WES World Cup. However, holding a permanent UCI licence provides extra sporting benefits listed on the UCI website.

Top 15 Women and top 15 Men riders in the 2023 UCI E-MTB XC World Cup standings as of 13 June 2023 will get reserved quota places for the E-MTB XC race at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships taking place next 9 August in Scotland (Great Britain).
