The double UCI E-MTB XC World Cup race format is confirmed for the next season: the Qualirace will determine the starting grid prior to each race, twice a weekend.
The top-50 classified Women and top-50 Men will take part in the following UCI E-MTB XC World Cup race. No separate results will be submitted for subcategories. Women and Men will continue competing together.
The UCI daily licence can be issued to National Federation licence holders aiming to challenge themselves as wildcards throughout the season. However, holding a permanent UCI licence provides extra sporting benefits, which are listed in the WES Regulations.
Top 15 Women and top 15 Men riders in the 2022 UCI E-MTB XC World Cup standings as of 1 August 2022 will get reserved quota places for the E-Mountain Bike race at the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships taking place on 24-28 August in France. Teams and Riders can apply now and for a limited period at a special price.
The track design continues to be the key for the series to make the most of an E-Bike. Each course will be unveiled prior to the event with the support of WES riders and special guests showing each racetrack’s features, and sharing their riding experience and tips. A mix of mountain, urban and seaside venues will take E-MTB racing to different types of location and terrain, and guarantee exciting competition for athletes and spectators.
WES expects an increasing interest from bike and motor manufacturers beside factory and private teams. The overall riders participation in the series is supposed to increase, in the global E-MTB scenario, as WES will grant improved media exposure, further to increased prize money, equal for Women and Men.
Communications plan and TV production will see a significant improvement, with more behind the scenes shots and interviews, along with the confirmed TV broadcast agreements.
WES Awards will be presented at each race to Women and Men:
- Magneti Marelli Checkstar Power Lap: the fastest rider on a full lap
- WES Holeshot: the fastest rider at the start passing the first turn in first position
WES Awards to be presented at the end of the season:
- Women and Men: UCI E-MTB XC World Cup Winner Title
- WES Teams: by adding up all team members’ points in all WES races
- Bike Manufacturers: by summing all riders’ points in all WES races
- Motor Manufacturers: by summing all riders’ points in all WES races
- Magneti Marelli Checkstar Power Lap end-of-season Award
- WES Holeshot end-of-season Award
Live timing, race results and overall standings will be available in real time on WES website throughout the season.
All of the rounds will feature the Ride WES, the social ride (Amateur Randonnée) organised by WES to allow riders of different levels to ride on and around the UCI E-MTB XC World Cup trails along with the pros. It is open to anyone aged 18 or over. The Ride WES is a side event that aims to take every kind of rider closer to the E-Bike world, offering a high-level ride experience, E-bike rental and additional services.
