WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup steals the show as it will be the only one discipline featured in 2021 WES events. The decision was made in consultation with WES Local Promoters to focus on the prestigious World Cup and on E-XC as the core discipline of the series’ previous editions.

2021 race format will guarantee exciting and thrilling action: double E-XC World Cup races at each event, giving athletes the chance to earn double points in one weekend.
The two races represent two separate challenges for the participants with separate podium ceremonies and classifications to sum for the overall standings.
Each race is preceded by a Qualirace open to permanent WES riders and Wildcards (UCI licence holders, year of 19th birthday onwards): the top-50 classified Women and top-50 Men will take part in the following UCI E-MTB XC WORLD CUP race.

Women and Men will battle in the same race, as per WES tradition, with separate classifications and standings, same prize money and awards, equal media exposure and support.

WES Awards will be presented at each race to Women and Men:

  • WES Holeshot: the fastest rider at the start passing the first turn in first position
  • Magneti Marelli Checkstar Power Lap: the fastest rider on a full lap
WES Awards to be presented at the end of the season:
  • Women and Men: the first-ever UCI E-MTB XC World Cup Winner Title
  • WES Teams: by summing all team members’ points in all WES races
  • Bike Manufacturers: by summing all riders’ points in all WES races
  • Motor Manufacturers: by summing all riders’ points in all WES races
Race results and overall standings will be available in real time on WES website all along the season.

WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup is the exclusive competition providing eligible points to qualify for the UCI E-MTB World Championships and clinch the coveted rainbow jersey.

All of the WES Rounds will feature the Ride WES, the social ride (Amateur Randonnée) organised by WES to allow riders of different levels to ride on and around the UCI E-MTB XC World Cup trails along with the pros. It is open to anyone aged 18 or over. The Ride WES is a side event that aims to take every kind of rider closer to the E-Bike world, offering a high-level ride experience.
